Tori did the right thing
Wed July 29
I think Tori did the right thing by inviting her mother to Stella's birthday. That said, I don't think a party (on camera) would be the best setting for mother and daughter to reunite. I firmly believe that the reconciliation process should be a private one.
Despite a few hitches at the beginning, I think the Little Maven fashion show turned out really well. I was a bit panicked in the morning when I got to the house and everything was in a state of disarray. When we found out that the backdrop would not make it in time, I really started to get nervous. Fortunately, we had some existing marketing collateral and the team was able to really pull it together to turn out an incredibly fun and chic fashion show.
I do think that Tori needs to reconsider the number of projects she attempts to juggle at once. Even though she's a natural producer and great multi-tasker, she needs to remember that having too much on her plate could ultimately affect the quality of her output, not to mention wear her down to the bone.

Katherine,
Did you ever find out where the bib came from?
I'm looking for it as well for my little one.
Thanks!
You are the sole voice of reason. Every word is spot on.
I understand needing to make money, but Tori keeps her life in a state of panic by attempting to do too much. No wonder she thinks about chucking it all and being a SAHM.
Having Candy meet Stella for the first time on national TV was a bad idea and an insensitive one. Exposing her mother in those books has probably set their relationship back by years.
What did Tori expect to accomplish by humiliating her mother in public with those books? Even though the stories are probably true, the result is that her mother feels compelled to fight back . . . in public.
I had a father who was abusive, but I would never expose him in a book to humiliate him. It's not a nice thing to do.
I hope Tori listens to your advice because it's the best.
Hey Mehran!
I love it! You remain diplomatic, yet still make your point.
;-) Emily
I also do agree that Tori meeting with her mom should be off camera, and I also understand the hurt a girl goes through when you have a broken relationship with her mother. I am single mom of two wonderful little girls and it breaks my heart that I have a mother but never had a mom. I have been through so much in my life and what hurts me the most is not having the comfort of your mom. You put yourself out their and try to have a relationship to only have your hear broken once again by the one person that should always be there for you. I look at my girls all the time and pray that I never make them feel the way my mom has made me feel, and the one thing I have learned from my mother is not what to do to my daughters. It is scary when you have a broken relationship with your mother and you have little girls yourself. No mater if you are rich and famous or just making it through life you still are a person and have a heart and feelings so people should stop judging Tori on the decisions she makes regarding her mother.
Mehran, I just love you! You are a true BFF and GUSBAND, always being objective and speaking your mind about what you truly believe is best. I agree about the private reunion between Tori and her Mom. I hope Tori listens to you. I'm expecting a baby any day now and can't wait to dress him up in LITTLE MAVEN apparel. So cute and stylish!! Cheers to a great season!
Tori is a selfish brat! Growing up in Malibu - Tori-types are a dime a dozen - they just don't all have reality shows to show the world their dysfunction and bad plastic surgery.
Hey mehren,
Your an awesome devoted friend. The McDermotts are so lucky to have you in their lives. You also have great fashion sense. I think there will be a private meeting, but I think Tori felt better surrounded by family and friends for the 1st round. They will hopefully work it out, just keep supporting and loving her.
Mehran,
I couldn't agree with you more! I agree that meeting between Tori and Candy should be a private matter. I believe the whole ordeal should be private as well. I don't blame Tori for inviting her mom to Stella's party and that was a great idea to do. You are a great friend to Tori, you are the always the advice of reasoning. Congrats on the Little Maven line and the jewelry. Take care.
Xoxo,
Jenny
it seems like you are quite a juggler of many things too! Do you have a day job?! I can't believe how much value you bring to Little Maven, Tori, basically her whole universe. Kudos to you for not thinking that a TV sponsored reunion between mom and daugther is best. That is a terrible idea. Some things should really be private. Keep up the good advice. The glimpses of you are the main reason I watch the show!!!
The episode this week really shined more light on Tori's feelings about her Mom. When she said "I take after my Mom when planning parties", and the fact that she beamed when she found out her Mom RSVP'd shares a lot about how Tori feels. I genuinly think she wants to do the right thing and have a relationship with her Mom. Her heart seems to be in the right place, and it must be a very difficult situation. I can't imagine. THAT SAID, a birthday party (not to mention on camera) is not the right place for a reunion. If Candy shows up at that party, she'd be like the pinata...everyone staring at her and wondering who was going to take the first "whack" at her. Tori needs to get together with her Mom first, one on one, off camera, and begin the healing process. Also, Tori should have personally delivered that birthday invitation. Instead, it felt like Candy received bait on the end of a fishing line!
Gusband to the rescue!! Make this on camera, "through the press" communication stop. There is nobody else I see in Tori's life that has even a remote chance of helping this to happen except for you. Help her see and do the right thing before its too late. True fans will understand the need for privacy in this matter...trust me!
Hi Mehran,
I have to say, Tori is one lucky girl to have such a special friend like you. You seem to be such a true, loyal & honest friend- I really commend you for that!!! By the way, great job on the jewelry & clothing lines... they're fabulous. I bought my daughter a few pieces of the little maven line at Bloomingdales- so cute!
I was hoping that you could maybe help me out by finding out where Stella's Birthday bib is from (the one she wore on the morning of her birthday at breakfast). I love it and want one for my little girl who is turning 1 in October. Thanks & wishing you all much continued success!!!
You're right. Reunion should be private. Not fair to Mrs Spelling, esp since it seems Dean wants to attack her in person.
Mehran-- I love watching you step in just when everything seems to be falling apart for Tori. You always seem to calm her just like any "other half" might do. I love watching the show whenever you are on because you remind me SO much of my best friend! It's amazing. :D
