PATSY

I tried to calm Tori down.

In Calgary, we went to the set a few times to see Dean and meet Jenny McCartney. We also went to the antique stores, did some other shopping, and went to the Children's Science Museum. It was fun, very interesting and the kids loved it.

It made me a little nervous when Stella threw up since she is "my girl"..."my baby." When the children get sick, I find that if I stay calm then Tori and Dean stay calm. And when Tori and Dean are calm, they can calm/soothe the children. It was a little bit difficult helping the kids with the pain in my back but it's a fact that I have to live with for now.

Safe travels, Patsy. You bring so much joy to Tori, Dean and the kids - and to my living room. Thank you for being such a beautiful soul, and for allowing us all into your life for so long. I can't wait until you come back to visit - and I am sure that the family can't either.

God bless you.

Dear Patsy: Just a note to say, all the best during your surgery. You are a blessing to Tori, Dean, Liam and Stella. I know they will miss you greatly as we all will. You are a special lady and i'll be praying for your speedy recovery. If you can, keep up the blog so we can know how you are doing. Come back soon. We love you!

Dear Miss Patsy,
You are such a great lady. What a blessing you have been to Tori and Dean and the kids. I am so sorry that you will be leaving. I know that everyone, including Tori would love for you to stay on forever. I think people forget that you have a life of your own. You are just such an uplifting and loving presence. Anyone can see how much you mean to Tori. You filled in the space that was left by her mother. You are just an angel Patsy.

I wish you all the very best and hope to see more of you with Tori and Dean and the kids in the future. Y'know Tori may have another baby just so you will come back!!

much love and best wishes,
Campbell

Patsy

Patsy, I am so sorry for the loss of your children. I watch the show every week and I love to see you on it. You are a lifesaver for Tori and Dean and I love their kids. If it is not too personal, what happened to your kids? Ihope you never leave the show. Janna

Patsy,
You seem like such a warm, loving and caring person. It is nice to know the Mcdermotts have been able to have a gem like you around. You have been such a great mother figure to the whole family.I am sure you will be missed when you leave.I hope to see you on future episodes.Good luck!

I wish we could edit - my post should have read (I'll cap the wrong words)

I've had an American fusion - with rods and it is agony as I walk, as I CAN feel bone rubbing metal due to it NOT fusing right. I also feel the rods in my back throb with the spasms. It's rare that I do not use a cane.

ADDING - I do not know anyone that has been fused that is not on pain medication. At my pain management Dr, anyone that has been fused is still in pain. We all wish we could take back our decision. Had I not been fused in early 2000 when I found the Germany info, I would have followed up and sent them my stuff via email.

FWIW, it's also fairly cheap. Think $3,000 per level. Pretty sure they work with most insurance companies.

Patsy I had the same surgey done but I also have Fibromaygia. I do walk with a cane .Just do everything the Doc's tell you take all the time you need to heel

Patsy, you are a true gem. The love you have for Liam & Stella shines through on the show. The viewers are going to miss you; please be sure to come back. Also, can you make an updated blog on your health? I know back pain; I honestly don't know how you are so active if you are in the amount of pain I am in. I have pain at L5S1 as well as muscle spasms in every muscle from my waist to my ankles. If you consider back surgery, please go to Germany see this site http://www.getadr.com/

I met a gal that had 3 levels done (L & T spine) and is doing WAY better then me. She walks, sits without thinking of how softly she will land on the chair, and has been pain free. I've had American fusion - with rods and it is agony as I walk as I feel bone rubbing metal due to it now fusing right. I also feel the rods in my back. It's rare that I do not use a cane.

Get better.

Patsy, I was heartbroken when I heard you say that 3 of your children had died in a short time......Those of us who have experienced the loss of one child knew some of your pain....

love you,
Kathie

Patsy-you're just so great with the McDermott family and especially with the 2 children-I'll be so sad to see you go but here's hoping you return and wishing you all the best on your upcoming surgery-I'll be praying for you-you're so awesome :-)

Patsy, I'm so glad Tori, Dean, Liam and Stella have you there. It's great that you can remain calm to calm them. Just saw the show tonight where you and Tori went to the Farmer's Market. It was exciting since I was at that Farmer's Market (or was it the Flea Market) in 2002 when I was in Anaheim for training on my job - and we toured into LA. Anyway, it was the place next to the CBS Building. Take care, and I will be following your surgery - good luck with that. I will be sending prayers up for you. Take care - you are such a jewel.

Patsy,I think that you are so sweet.Tori,Dean and the kids are very lucky to have you.

Patsy,
I love watching you on the show, I wish you were on it more! When they showed you at the Dr you mentioned you lost your son and possibly another child but nothing else was mentioned about that and I felt so badly for you. You are one strong woman. I cannot imagine dealing with a loss of a child. Also, they never said how your surgery went. There are so many viewers who love you and would love to know more details about YOU. How can we find out? I saw you ask for the next party to be for you, I really hope you are not leaving...

Hi,Patsy i was watching the show this morning you asked tori for the next party to be for you, you not leaving the family are you? i think that you are a wonderful person passionate and caring i can see that you LOVE tori, stella, liam, and dean very much just as i can see the LOVE the love they have for you

Good morning!
I watched you remain SO calm when the baby threw up! Very impressive!
Have a wonderful day!

You are the loving Grandmother to those two precious babies, Patsy. That will remain as you will always be connected to that family throughout life. When you do have to go home and leave as the baby nanny, I think you should be the one to conduct the interviews for the person who will try to walk in your shoes. Sign me up as a candidate. I wear size 10 shoes.

Hi Patsy, I hope this isn't too personal, but where is your husband at now? I remember in one show, at the B & B that you talked about how you hadn't seen your husband in 6 months so Tori flew him in for a special surprise. Do you get to see him now that Tori and Dean have relocated? Sorry, hope that is not too nosey, I just keep wondering every time I see you if you get to see your husband.
Take care,
Tina

Hi Patsy,
I love Tori and Dean's show. Those Kids are Beautiful! You seem like such a no-nonsense Woman who takes care of business! I'm sorry you have had so many losses in your life. To loose a Child is my worst fear. And just recently I almost lost my only Son. He has a serious drug addiction,He is only 21. I cried when I seen you in the Doctor's office talking about your stress.Your in my prayers. I myself have had Lap Band surgery. I lost 90lbs,but have gained 30 of it back. I had to go on steroids. The surgery is helpful, but you can still eat ice cream, chocolate and liqiuds. You still have to watch what you eat,but you will eat less! Good luck Miss Patsy,I hope to see more of you on the show.
God Bless,
Gael

Hi Patsy,

I was just going to ask where you have been but I just saw you on the new episode tonight.

I wanted to tell you, I was over weight before so I know how you feel with the back pain and other medical issues. I also have done a lot of research on the surgery and I decided to go a whole different route. I lost 80 pounds in about 10 months over 2 1/2 years ago. I have kept it off and I have a new lease on life.
Once you know the right foods to eat and you get in to a habit with a good program you can overcome the weight problem. The program I did that changed my life had cost me less than 60 bucks, crazy how easily I was able to reach my goal with such a simple program.
Anyway, I wish you the best and trust you will do what is right for you. Good luck and I will be watching to see how you do!

Hey Patsy,

I am not sure if you really read these comments, but I just wanted to say how happy it makes me to see the great relationship you have with Tori and her family. As a college job, I have been nannying--assisting on family vacations, and truly in the last 3 years feeling totally a welcomed member of the family...and it makes me soo happy to see how well Tori and Dean treat you. You are a part of their family, and it makes me so happy to know that because so often sometimes the richer people are, the worse they actually treat their nannies. It is so clear to see how much Tori loves you...you are a mother figure for her. I know you have suffered alot, I cant say I understand what you have been through becuase that would be a lie...but what I do know is how much Tori, Dean, and those kids need you...as I am sure many others in your life do as well. Battling weight, espeically when its an emotional problem is no easy feat, i have been there.... but people need you around, and I believe you know that and want to be around as well. It wont be easy, but you can do it Pats! Just dont give up...and remember the two pint sized, but giant reasons to get up and fight every day!

Patsy, you are the best. You keep especially Tori focused. With all that is going on with her mom, you are the strong maternal figure in her life. She needs you. I dont know what she would do without you. Keep up the great work and things you do for the McDermot Family. I love you. Good luckk with your week..it is my demon also.

Patsy, I just wanted to tell you that I loved the episode when your husband came to visit and Tori and Dean made you dinner...you deserved that for all the nice things you do for them..I hope they surprise you many more times with special things...Good luck with your health issues..I will say a prayer for you..

Hi Patsy, you are a wonderful woman.I so admire the strength that you display with every corner the family you care so perfectly for takes.I'm not the usual fan,as I'm 55 & only knew of Tori thru my sons watching her on 90210. Then when I saw her with Mimi LaRue, I knew she was a person I really could relate to.I related to you right away. I want so badly to tell you to please continue down the road of taking care of yourself.I was a single Mom all my life & worked hard to keep a home & food on the table. When my boys did leave home, I began to feel my health slipping away from me.I'm now on disability & so regret not taking better care of me.You're doing the right thing, be strong, stay strong, the family needs you.But YOU need you. I now have had to give up my home & live with my oldest son. It's not easy after being so independent all my life.I'll continue to watch with interest, your journey to your better well being. You're in my prayers & if you need a pep talk, I'll be right here! Us girls must stick together!

I soooooo mispelled your name and I am sooo sorry!!! BUT you are tha bomb and I love you although I do not know you. You are toooooo sweet and I would love to have you as a part of my home. I hope you are doing well and I hope to see you on the episodes soon as that is when I see you. :) Take care!

I didn't see you in this last episode, but assumed you were with them in NY City. I hope you are doing better with your back and I understand where you're coming from with it. I pray that the surgery will go well and you'll be back soon taking care of all 4 "kids" very soon!! Miss you and wish you the best.
Much Love, Robin

Patsy, you are a blessing to this earth. I was watching the episode where you and Tori went to the Organic Food Market to start you on your Organic Diet. That girl walked up and I about pee-ed my pants! That girl was weird!!!!!! She was a nut job. I bet you thought so, too. But she was a fan and Tori was really nice to take a picture with her. I can't believe she didn't say, "Can you just leave me alone?" But she's just not that person. I would have done that.

Patsy, I just watched the episode about the Mommywood book coming out. I did not see you on this episode...I hope it is because you were getting the Lap-Band put on.

YOu are such a great part of the show. You show such compassion and nurturing love to the kids as well as Tori and Dean. I really feel that you fill the void left by Candy in Tori's life and that is beautiful.

I hope and pray all is well!

PATSY,YOU ARE A BLESSING TO TORI&DEAN,BUT YOU ARE ALSO A BLESSING TO ME.I FEEL YOUR LOVE AND COMPASSION FOR THE KIDS THROUGH THE TV SCREEN!MY PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU & YOUR HEALTH. YOU CAN DO IT!!I HAVE A 3YR OLD DAUGHTER AND NO MATTER WHAT MY HEALTH IS LIKE I PUSH ON FOR HER & YOU HELP TOO.I'M DIABETIC FOR 30YRS,HYPOTHYROIDISM,&FIBROMYALGIA(SEVERE).THAT'S NOT ALL, BUT ENOUGH WITH PHYSICAL ISSUES.JUST KEEP BEING YOURSELF & SMILE BECAUSE IT MAKES ME SMILE.YOU'RE A BEAUTIFUL PERSON.

Patsy: I am 53 and was a walking time bomb. I finally made the decision to have gastric bypass. In the 9 months since surgery I have lost 100 lbs. It was the hardest decision to make but I don't regret it. God bless you with what ever decision you make and you have a great support system going. Good luck.

Patsy. Please check out http://www.highpointregional.com/ourservices/gastric-bypass/index.asp to help you get your weight under control. It is really a better procedure than the gastric banding option you are considering. On My space if you search MGB you'll get to my blog page and can get more information if you choose to join. Best of luck to you in getting healthy,

Dear Ms.Patsy,
I wish I had you around to help me with my son! Tori is so very lucky to have you!!

Patsy, I've watched Tori and Dean from the beginning. The episode where Tori and Stella went with you to the doctor and there you discussed a possible band surgery for helping with weight loss. I saw a commercial by a doctor of gastrointestinal surgery called Fullbar. Locate at www.Fullbar.com It works the same as surgery but without the surgery, by eating 2 fullbar with glass of water, fills stomach to 2/3 full leaving small space for food as the band would do. With diet and exercise the weight comes off. If you have already had the band surgery because the episodes have already been filmed. Then I wish you all the best and I know you will accomplish your goal.

Patsy, pls tell Dean and Tori that they don't ASK Liam if he wants to do something. They have to say, "We are going to go to take a nap." or "Let's go play inside." Don't say, "Do you want to...." He's going to say "NO!!!!" He's 2...he doesn't know what he wants except his way. Just giving you some insight as an outsider looking in. Love you!

I love watching Tori and Dean! You are such a large part of my pleasure in the show. I really like T & D, and see that they're trying to be regular family but because they are both celebrities, it's going to be difficult for them. However, because they have you to help, Patsy, that goes a long way for them to be so. Please stay healthy for your own sake. Love, M.:)

Patsy - First let me say that Tori is truly blessed to have you! I wish I could have a Patsy for my daughter. I am trying to get a message to Tori and wondered if you could help.

My daughter has a rare syndrome - Aicardi Syndrome. (You can get information at www.aicardisydrome.org) When she was diagnosed at 4 months old, I was told not to expect her to live very long. She just celebrated her 11th birthday this past February.

July 9-11, 2010 the Aicardi Syndrome Foundation will be holding it bi-annual Family conference in Chicago, IL. I watch Tori's show, have read her 1st book and am about to read her second, watched her on 90210, etc. Needless to say I am a huge fan. However, I am also an admirer of her skills of juggling such a busy career and being a good wife and mom.

Many of our mom's have to juggle careers, non-disabled siblings, doctors' appointments, etc. (For example, personally, I am a teacher, attending college working on my doctorate, being a soccer and volleyball mom to my 17 year old son, taking my daughter to various appts -she has 5 different doctors, and trying to find time for myself.)

I think that Tori would be an excellent role model to have at our "Mother's Tea" that weekend. The conference is actually an informational type conference with breakout sessions on different topics that affect our daughters (the syndrome only affects girls). However, next year we would like to have our first "Mother's Tea". I thought that Tori would be the perfect guest for that. The day of the weekend and time could revolve around her schedule - we would just be honored to have her.

Can you help me get this message to her?

Hello Pasty!!!
I just want to tell you that I saw you, Tori and the family in the Maui airport and you are looking great. GO PASTY!!!! Hope you had a great and relaxing vacation.

Patsy, I'm not sure if you had the weight surgery yet, but before you would do something that risky, please check out TaiSlim, the liquid weight loss beverage. It's help thousands of people lose the excess weight. I can help you lose the weight in a more healthy way. Let me know if you are interested in checking it out.

Miss Patsy,
I just have to say I love seeing you on this show. I have been a fan of Tori's since 90210, and seeing how close she is to you, to actually consider you like a mom is amazing. She and her husband are so grounded. I just love the interaction you all have with one another. It is very evident she and her family loves you, and you love them. I will keep you in my prayers and I hope you get some relief soon from the back pain. I wish you well wishes when you do have your surgery, and a speedy recovery.

Miss Patsy, you are just too cute for words. I so wanted to write you last season when they had Liam. I, too, am a professional baby nurse and have traveled around the country helping couples with multiples or singletons. I was curious as to how you get the positions like you have? I'm very qualified-Im a RN, LCSW and Educator. When Im not working for the State of TX investigating nursing homes to see if they are meeting regulations and investigating complaints, I do night nursing or being a doula. I'm returning for my 4th degree to become a either a Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult Nurse Practitioner. I will always focus on my passion which are babies, young children and pregnancy and birth. I begin school Aug 31, but if you need help for a few weeks I would love staying with you and doing some of your work so you can relax or even have the surgery. I'm not looking to be on TV, just help a fellow baby nurse/nanny so she can get back on her feet to care for her babies until they get into college. Because you and I both know, they are not finished having babies. They excel in baby making and are great parents which makes being a baby nurse such a pleasure. I just want to help you so you can be there for them. It is so very obvious how much they love, respect and worry about you. You can check out all my credentials, I have nothing to hide. I would be honored to help you, you are a lovely lady. So am I- I believe we are about the same age too!

This is a serious offer; you can find my email address and contact me. Im in TX--argh.
Marilyn

Hey Patsy,
It's me KLee, making my rounds of chat. I hope you are getting some relief for your back. My pain specialist prescribes a Lidoderm patch to be worn 12 hour intervals, then you remove.
It does not sedate you, or make you feel anything. What is does is numb you back and help the muscles relax so you can rest. Ask the Dr. about them. I have back pain, I am so sorry you do too.
And, by the way, you are a good baby caregiver, always cool, flexible and so loving with them.
I KNOW Tori and Dean feel so much better having you near them. Much love dear and remember the patches, it'll help. KLee lee-rebecca@att.net Send me an email for any questions.

Patsy,
Just curious...do you have children of your own?

Dear Patsy,
You are so wonderful with Tori and Dean's 2 angels. I watched when you were Liam's baby nurse and was so glad to see you back for Liam's 1st birthday and then when Stella was born. I hope you stay with Tori and Dean, with their hi-profile lives they need you to keep them grounded.I suffer from back pain and I know what you are going through. Good luck with your surgery. I pray things go well for you. I will be praying that things go well with you.

Patsy, you are truly a wonderful caretaker and friend to Tori and her family. They are so lucky to have you!
Good luck on your weight loss journey. I know from experience, it's not an easy thing to do. I also suffer from back pain.
Good luck!

I just love Tori, Dean, Patsy, the whole show. I like that Tori and Dean are so down to earth! They make it easy to watch and admire them. Patsy is sweet and mothering (is that a word?). Dean and Tori are soul mates for sure, I don't think I have ever seen a couple so in love and meant for each other and they knew it from the start. I want that kind of love, even though rare to find. Thank you for sharing your lives with us. You are real and engaging, totally adorable and awesome parents.

Dear Patsy,

You are a wonderful, wonderful caregiver...

I know you have back issues... have you tried chiropractic care? something to check into... before major surgury...

Dear Patsy, You so remind me of my sweet Aunt. She was the mother I never had. You are most certainly an angel. I feel for Tori when she worries about you because I know how it feels to finally find a real mother. I think you are a terrific person and friend of Tori's. I love watching all of you and have really discovered that Tori is a truly likable and loving person. All of us that never really had mother's need someone like you to come into our lives and just show us unconditional love after all, to quote the Beatles, All you need is love, love is all you need...

My Dear Tori, I love your show and I am in my 60's...your relationship with your mom reminds me of my relationship with my mother. You are so strong and independent, I only wish you had been around for inspiration during my hard moments in my life in the late 50's and 60's. Ha! Keep up the good work and don't stop your shows, believe it they are so inspiring. You are so awesome in more ways than one, God Bless you, Dean, Stella, "monkey" and Patsy and all your wonderful and loving friends.

Patsy, I know most of the Blogs are to Dean and Tori, but you my dear are the oil that keeps the machines rolling.

I love, love, love you Patsy. You are fantastic with the children and you are a wonderful confidant to Tori.

God Gless

u r priceless my lady
