About the lightskin and dark skin issue. Why did you feel the need to share that with your white roommates? Especially since you're misinformed like so many other African Americans that continue to spread the myth. Light skin slaves that worked in the house didn't have it easier. Every time the wife saw that slave she was reminded of her husband infidelity. And she would take it out on that slave by abusing her.
